Q3: Were workers who chose to unionize treated unfairly?

Formative Performance Task: Jigsaw and Poem

Students will break into groups of 6 for a jigsaw activity. Each group will then count off by 6 and spread out to tables and be given a featured source from the archival materials related to supporting question 3. They will then read and analyze their source and determine if they feel the people/person mentioned in each source was treated unfairly and what evidence from the source they can use to backup this claim. They will then return to their original groups where each member of the group will share what source they looked at and what information they took away. 

Students will create a poem or song about unfair working conditions or practices using specific examples from the sources they looked at.
