Day 7: Explain, Extend, Elaborate
Standard
4 – P4.2.2 Participate in projects to help or inform others
Objective
Students will be able to compose brief presentations to inform their classmates on what their groups discussed.
Assessment
In their groups, students will present their conclusions to the class informing them on the agreement they reached and their ideas to take action.
Instructional Activities
- Students will get back into their groups and review the two perspectives they discussed the previous day
- Students will deliberate the two sides using what they learned throughout the week, from each others’ presentations, and by offering their own experiences/opinions
- The group will find areas of agreements between the perspectives and brainstorms what they could do to help or raise awareness
- Groups will briefly present their agreements and ideas with the whole class
- Whole class debrief
