Victories

Hard-fought organizing campaigns and tough negotiating led to success at the bargaining table. District 925 contracts delivered improved wages, working conditions, and benefits for thousands of members over the course of its tenure. There were many important victories; among them: an improved contract for telephone answering service operators in Boston in 1983 after a nine-month strike; a 1992 contract following a three-day strike at the University of Cincinnati; a ten-year campaign at the University of Washington resulting in a contract with full collective bargaining in 1994; and the 1998 landslide victory resulting in union recognition for the professional staff at Cleveland State University. A larger sample of the variety of contracts they won can be found here.
